CUP
COMPETITION RULES
1
CONSTITUTION The Competition shall be designated
the ROMFORD & DISTRICT LEAGUE CUP COMPETITION and may be divided into
sections. The Competition shall be conducted on the cup tie principle in
accordance with the Rules, Regulations and Bye Laws of the Football
Association, and shall be open only to members of the League or Competition.
The Competition shall be Affiliated to the Essex
County Football Association.
2 FEES & CHARGES The entrance fee shall be £25 payable
on or before the 31 August in each year. A team shall not participate in the
Competition until its entrance fee has been paid. Each Team entered shall be required to
purchase 10 final tie tickets. Each Team
entered shall pay an annual supplement of £25 for the purchase of final tie
mementos
3 MANAGEMENT The Competition shall be managed by
the League Management Committee. An AGM shall be integrated with the League
AGM. A separate audited Balance Sheet
for the Competition shall be prepared for the AGM
4 QUALIFICATION OF PLAYERS All
player must be registered with Romford & District League for their Club at least
seven days prior to playing, and must be bona-fide members of the Club they
represent, and shall have played (except in
the first and second rounds) for such Club in the present season. In all ties
after the third round a player must have played at least four Romford & District League matches, except by special
permission of the Management Committee. A player shall not play for more than
one Team in the Competition in the same season. No player shall be eligible to
play in the Competition who has taken part in 6 or more Senior Competition
matches during the current season. A senior Competition shall be defined as one
in which each of the competing teams is either the First Team or a Senior Club
and registered as such with its County Association, or a Team attached to a
Club employing players under written contract. Charity Competitions rank as
junior. Any Club playing an ineligible player, may be struck out of the
Competition in which case the match be awarded to their opponents, and shall be
further dealt with as the Management Committee may determine. Having played in
a section, a player will be ineligible to play for a Team competing in a lower
division.
5 REFEREES
Fees and responsibility for payment
of Referees and Assistant Referees will rest with the Home Club and amount to
the same as for a Romford & District League
Match, but these expenses shall be jointly defrayed by both Clubs. In the event
of the non-appearance of the appointed Referee, the Clubs shall mutually agree
upon a Referee, and provided the game played to a finish it shall rank as a
cup-tie
6 MATCHES
The draw shall be made by the
Management Committee which will also fix the dates on which the ties shall be
played. If the scores are equal after normal time, extra time must be played.
If still a draw at the end of the extra time, the match will be decide on
penalty kicks; a minimum being five per team.
Unless by special permission of the
Management Committee all matches must be played on the dates originally fixed,
inability of the Home Club to arrange a pitch will not be accepted as a reason
for postponement if the away Club can make a pitch available. In the event of a
Club failing to appear for the Final tie, a fine of £150 shall be imposed plus
all reasonable costs incurred by the opponents and League. Final tie officials
and participating team secretaries should confirm with the League Secretary
between 2 p m and 6 p m on the day of the
final that the match has not been postponed
7 TROPHIES
& MEMENTOS
Clubs competing in the Final tie
shall (funds Permitting) receive mementoes. The
Trophies of the Competition cannot be won outright. At the Final tie, the
Combination at its discretion , may withhold a memento
to which a player may be entitled, if he is ordered from the field of play,
cautioned or fails to collect the award at the presentation ceremony.
8 RULES With the exceptions stated above, the Rules of the Romford & District Football League and where applicable
the Essex County Junior Cup Rules shall govern this Competition. Each Club
shall be deemed to have given assent to the foregoing Rules, and to abide by
the decisions of the Management Committee subject to Rule 15.

CLARIFICATION
Romford & District League Cup Competition – includes all
divisional cup matches
Rule 4 - Qualification of players………. All players must be
registered with the Romford and District League for their Club AT LEAST 7
DAYS prior to the match
Match day signings are NOT PERMITTED
A player can only represent ONE TEAM in the Competition
Once a player has played for a team in the competition he will be
deemed to be cup tied for that competition, even if he is properly transferred
from another club
1st Round (last 16) - Players must be registered with the R &
D League for their club at LEAST seven days prior to the match
2nd Round (last 8) - Player must have played at least One
league game for the team
Semi - Final - Player must have played Two
league games for the team
Final - Player must have played Four
league games for the team.
No player will be allowed to play in a competition in the lower
divisions having already played in 6 matches for the club in a higher division
I D Card checks must be made prior to all cup games. Failure to do so may result in appeals to the
Management Committee regarding ineligible players being unsuccessful.
Any team found proven to playing an ineligible player (s) will be
struck out of the competition, the tie awarded to the opponents and fined a
minimum of £20
No team will be cleared to play in the next round until the League
has received a valid match card

Skip Attwood

1st Round (last 16) - Players must be registered with the League
for their club at LEAST 7 days prior to the match
2nd Round (last 8) - Player must have played 2 league games for
the team
Semi - Final - Player must have played 3 league games for the team
Final - Player must have played 4 league games for the team
Skip Attwood Trophy
1st Round (last 64) and 2nd Round (last 32) - Players must be
registered with the R & D for their Club at Least 7 days prior to the
match
3rd Round (last 16) and 4th Round (last 8) - Player must have
played 2 League games for the team (NOT CLUB)
Semi Final - Player must have played 3 league games for the team (NOT
CLUB)
Final - Player must have played 4 League games for the team (NOT
CLUB)
